Men’s Collegiate Hockey Program Coming to SC4

Port Huron, MI. — St. Clair County Community College (SC4) is launching a men's collegiate hockey program, expanding athletic opportunities for student-athletes. The Skippers will compete against fellow American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) affiliates at various ACHA Division I-III levels from Saginaw Valley State University, Oakland, Michigan State, U of M Flint, Schoolcraft College and many more regional college and universities.

The team begins their season in Fall 2026. Rob Churchill will be the head coach of the SC4 hockey team.

McMorran Arena will serve as the official home arena for the SC4 hockey team. The venue is a hub for national and international hockey competition across all age levels making it a fitting home for SC4's newest collegiate athletic program.

SC4 President Kirk Kramer emphasized the significance of the addition and its alignment with the college's mission to serve students, stating, "This new hockey program reflects SC4's commitment to expanding opportunities for students and connecting to the region we proudly serve. Skippers hockey at McMorran Arena is a natural and exciting step forward."

The college is exploring additional sports to be announced for the coming school year, reinforcing its commitment to providing more opportunities for student-athletes throughout the region.
