Skippers vs. Adrian
Skippers won their home opener Tuesday night against the Bulldogs 72-92. This was Skippers head coach Rich Field's first career win as a head coach. The Skips got a lead early on and never looked back.
The biggest story in this game was the rebounding and defense. The Skippers outrebounded the Bulldogs 53 to 31. Your Skips also held Adrian to a cool 33 percent from the field. Meanwhile, the Skippers shot a consistent 56 percent overall. Christopher Dobessi-Tinade was just one of the players who seemed like he couldn't miss that night. He dropped a hot 30 points going 14-17 from the field tagging along 7 boards to his impressive scoring total. Cameron Hudson did his part dishing the rock, leading the team with 5 assists. Au'Mari Smith made an impressive contribution coming off the bench with 11 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, and a steal in just 21 minutes of play. The only thing that didn't seem to click for the skips was their 3-point shooting. They did not make a single three in Tuesday's opener going 0-14 from deep. Bulldog's Nick Seifert leads his team with 22 points shooting 8 of 16 from the field and 2-6 from deep.
The Skips will be on the road against Glen Oaks Community College Tomorrow (11/11). Tip-off will be at 7:30 PM EST.
