Detroit, Mich. — The St. Clair County Community College baseball team picked up an impressive road win on Friday, defeating Schoolcraft College 14–11 in a high-scoring conference matchup.
SC4 jumped out to an early lead and never trailed, piling up 14 runs on 14 hits. The Skippers' offense was led by a balanced attack throughout the lineup, highlighted by Peyton Ellis, who went 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBIs, Mason Golabek, who added two hits and an RBI, and Will Wiegand who went 2-for-3 including a home run to go along with three runs and five RBIs.
The Skippers built momentum early with an eight run first inning and continued to apply pressure as the game progressed, answering Schoolcraft's rallies with key hits. SC4 plated multiple runs in the middle innings to maintain control and finished strong with late offense to secure the victory.
On the mound, SC4 used multiple pitchers to navigate a deep Schoolcraft lineup. Carson Carroll earned the win with a strong outing in relief, while Camden Townsend, Adam Laski, and Logan Bach combined to close out the game. The pitching staff limited damage in critical moments, stranding runners and forcing key outs to preserve the lead.
Schoolcraft College totaled 11 runs on 11 hits, with several extra-base hits, but SC4's ability to respond offensively proved to be the difference.
With the victory, St. Clair County Community College continues to build momentum as the season progresses, showcasing depth at the plate and resilience on the road.
