Cross Country Posts Impressive Times at Jayhawk Invite

Port Huron, MI - The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) men's cross-country team delivered a strong performance at the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College, finishing 11th overall with 333 points. The cooler fall weather proved ideal for racing, as 9 of the 12 Skippers runners recorded either personal or season-best times.

Sophomore Trent Glass led the charge with a season-best time of 28:04, followed closely by freshman Luke Meyer, who clocked a personal best of 28:10. Freshman Ryan Jackins shaved nearly a full minute off his previous best, finishing in 28:25. Sophomore Dylan Schumann and freshman Jerry Westrick rounded out the scoring team with personal bests of 28:29 and 28:39, respectively.

With momentum building, the Skippers now turn their focus to the Region 12 Championship, set for Friday, October 24 at 12:00 PM at Goodells County Park.

Head Coach Max Whittredge expressed pride in the team's progress and is optimistic about their chances at regionals. "This group has been putting in the work all season, and it's exciting to see it pay off. We're looking forward to seeing what they can do at Goodells."

The SC4 community is encouraged to come out and support the team as they race for a spot on the national stage.
