Port Huron, MI — The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) men's track team launched its 2025-26 indoor campaign in spectacular fashion at the SVSU Holiday Opener on December 5, delivering a series of standout performances and rewriting the program record book.

Leading the charge was Luke Meyer, who claimed a decisive heat victory in the 800 meters with a sharp 2:01, setting the tone for the Skippers' season. Sprint sensation Donte Fenderson electrified the track, establishing two new school records with a blazing 7.20 in the 60 meters and a strong 23.07 in the 200 meters.

The momentum continued as Thomas Kann added another program milestone, clocking 52.14 in the 400 meters for yet another school record. In the distance events, Wyatt Murtos delivered a standout mile performance of 4:54, the fourth-fastest in team history, while Ryan Jackins opened his season with a solid 17:21 in the 5,000 meters.

The Skippers capped the meet in thrilling fashion with the 4x400 relay team of Bryce Barkowska, Luke Meyer, Jerry Westrick, and Thomas Kann posting a school-record 3:36, sealing a dominant finish to an already historic day.
