SC4 Women’s Track Team Opens Season at SVSU Holiday Opener with Strong Performances

Port Huron, MI - This past weekend, the Women's Track team traveled to Saginaw Valley State University for the SVSU Holiday Opener. With this being the first season with new track recruits, initial records were set in multiple events, setting the bar for the rest of the season and for future athletes.

Overall, the Skippers set 4 initial school records, while more athletes worked their way on to the Skipper's Top 10 list.

Elaina Stadelbauer became the first Skipper to compete in the 60m and 200m. Stadelbauer ran times of 9.26 and 31.27, setting the standard to beat the rest of the season.

Lauren Fowler posted a time of 2:42.04 in the 800m, taking the #4 spot on the Skippers' Top 10 list.

In the Mile, Julia Rogers took the #8 spot on the Skippers' Top 10 list, running 6:08.95. Rogers also claimed the #4 spot on the Skippers' Top 10 list in the 3,000m with a time of 12:53.74.

Angelina Ross joined Rogers in the 3,000m, taking the #7 spot on the Skippers' Top 10 list with a time of 13:51.79.

Brynn Hurley ran 19:13.35 as the first Skipper to compete in the indoor 5,000m, setting the initial SC4 record.

The 4x400m relay team of Rogers, Hurley, Ross, and Fowler set the initial SC4 standard for the event in a time of 4:50.82

The Skippers will return to competition after the Holiday break on January 16th at the SVSU Classic.
