Hurley Breaks Her Own 3,000m School Record, While Teammates Post Season Bests

The Women's Track team gained a few more runners back as they competed at the GVSU Bill Clinger Invite, hosted by Grand Valley State University. The competition was held on Friday, January 23rd at the Kelly Family Sports Center.

The Skippers' competition started off with Julia Rogers and Lauren Fowler competing in the 400m dash. Rogers ran a consistent time, placing 50th in 1:07.91. Fowler ran a season best of 1:09.43, taking 54th place. The duo was then accompanied by teammate Jenna Denver in the 800m run. Rogers and Denver both ran season bests, taking 48th and 50th place respectively in times of 2:39.11 and 2:49.29. Fowler placed 51st running 2:50.28.

Hurley ended the night for the Skippers running the 3,000m run. Brynn Hurley bested her previous school record by 4 seconds, running 11:03.50 and taking 47th place.

The team has one week off of racing before heading back to GVSU for the Mike Lints Alumni Meet on Saturday, February 7th.
