Port Huron, MI - The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) men's basketball team earned a hard‑fought 71–67 victory over Macomb Community College on Saturday, using a balanced offensive attack to secure the MCCAA win over the conference leading Monarchs.
After trailing early, SC4 fought hard for a 33-32 halftime lead. They used an efficient second half to secure the win, shooting an impressive 62.5% from the field in the second half and outscoring Macomb 38–35 over the final 20 minutes. The Skippers' defense also tightened, holding Macomb to just 33.3% shooting after the break.
SC4 used a balanced offensive attack to get the job done:
- De'Andre Terrell led the Skippers with 18 points on an efficient 8-for-10 shooting.
- Chris McLavish turned in an impressive all-around night scoring 13 while grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out 7 assists and coming away with 4 steals.
- Kevin Tiggs added 8 points and 2 blocks.
- Wasir James scored 7 while and sent away 4 Macomb shots.
In the final minutes, the Skippers came up with timely stops. SC4's balanced scoring and composure down the stretch helped them secure the 4-point win.
