Port Huron, MI. — The St. Clair County Community College men's basketball team earned one of its biggest wins of the season on Tuesday night, going on the road to knock off Macomb Community College 87–82 in the NJCAA Great Lakes District B Quarterfinals.
With the victory, the Skippers (18–12) advance to the District Semifinals, where they will face Edison State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mott Community College in Flint.
SC4 put together one of its most efficient offensive performances of the year, shooting 51.7% from the field and knocking down 10 three-pointers. The Skippers also went 15-for-22 at the free-throw line, including several key makes down the stretch to secure the upset win.
A strong first half saw SC4 take a 42–36 lead into the break. The Skippers continued their rhythm offensively in the second half, shooting 55.2% and keeping Macomb at arm's length despite several late charges from the Monarchs.

- Chris McLavish led the Skippers, scoring 21 points to go along with 4 assists and 3 steals.
- His backcourt mate, Donovan Thames followed close behind him, adding 20 points with 4 assists and 2 blocks
- De'Andre Terrell scored 13 points and pulled down 6 rebounds while also coming away with 4 steals
- Kevin Tiggs added 11 points and 5 rebounds to the Skippers' effort
- Off the bench, Jacob Asomani also scored 11 points.
Defensively, SC4 forced timely turnovers and held Macomb to just 30% shooting from beyond the arc.
The Skippers advance to the region's final four and now turn their attention to Edison State. The winner of Thursday's semifinal will move on to the District Championship, with a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament on the line.
