Flint, MI – The St. Clair County Community College Skippers delivered a commanding performance on the road Monday night, sweeping Mott Community College in three straight sets (27–25, 25–21, 25–19).
Led by standout hitter Breanna Gentner, who posted 8 kills with a stellar .500 hitting percentage, the Skippers overcame a slow start to dominate the final two sets. Brooklynn Haack contributed 6 service aces, while Bella McCamman anchored the defense with 8 digs and added 6 kills.
Despite a tough first set with a negative hitting percentage, the team rallied in the third, hitting .263 and closing out the match with confidence. Setter Addison Bolen added 22 assists and 10 digs, helping the offense find its rhythm.
The Skippers' defense was equally impressive, recording 66 digs and 12 block assists, effectively shutting down Mott's attack.
With this win, SC4 starts 1–0 in what looks to be a hotly contested MCCAA Eastern Conference and improves to 8–4 overall.
