SC4 Women’s Basketball Gets Back on Track with Win Over Edison State CC

Port Huron, MI – The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) women's basketball team continued its impressive season with a commanding 77-55 win over Edison State on Wednesday night at the SC4 Fieldhouse. The Skippers improved to 7-5 overall.

SC4 showcased a balanced offensive attack and relentless defense throughout the game. After a tight first quarter (14-14), the Skippers pulled away in the second, outscoring Edison State 16-9 to take a 30-23 halftime lead. The momentum carried into the second half, where SC4 scored 21 and 26 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Key Performers:

  • Iliana Williams led the Skippers with 21 points (18 in the second half) while pulling down 11 rebounds and taking the ball away 5 times.
  • Kyrieona Carter made a big contribution scoring 20 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field and grabbing 18 rebounds.
  • Taylor Wallace added 18 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals, providing leadership on both ends of the court.
  • Soleil DeJesus chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds, with Sylver Bowles scoring 7 and dishing out the rock to the tune of 5 assists.

As a team, SC4 shot 37% from the field and dominated the glass with 47 rebounds, including 21 offensive boards.

Edison State was led by Jaela Johnson with 18 points, but the Chargers struggled to keep pace with SC4's depth and defensive pressure.

Edison State – 55

The Skippers will look to start a new winning streak when they return to action on Friday, December 19 at Owens Community College.
